HOW MUCH DOES YOUR MOOD DRIVE YOUR READING PREFERENCE?

ARE YOU READING FOR LIGHT HEARTED ESCAPE?

FOR ROMANCE? FOR EROTIC RUSH?
FOR LIFE AFFIRMING EDUCATION?
OR CRIME THRILLERS FOR PURE ENTERTAINMENT?

It's been interesting to see the changes in requests and comments as 2010 came to a close and cold weather storms generated most of the headlines.

We didn't hear from anyone reading winter stories after Thanksgiving. Instead we saw Carl Hiaasen's novels high on the list of favorites (a great way to visit Florida without paying for plane fare). And yes, it helps that more of his novels are being offered in multiple eBook formats.

Some of the best buys of the new season are at Borders: Get Up To 70% Off eBooks at Borders.com.Shop Now!

Our Romance readers seem to be closely following Sandra Brown (Texas Sage; series Book 3), while more series lovers enjoy Janet Evanovich'sSizzling Sixteen released late June 2010, and racking up discounted pre-orders for Smokin Seventeen due for release in June 2011.

Maybe there are New Year Resolutions bringing more interest in Anthony Robbins Companies (Live the life YOU want! It only takes 10 days to create lasting change.) and in Brian Tracey Seminars (Save 20% on all Brian Tracy Orders Over $50! - Use Coupon Code AFF20). I've attended both at one time or another. My investment in audio packages has been most helpful because I listen to them again a couple times a year just for the good feelings it gives me.

But in the end, my heart still belongs to easy-reading mystery novels. And from the look of our mailbag, many of our LLP readers feel the same way. My order for (U is for Undertow; Kinsey Milhone Mystery #21 ) arrived in the mail yesterday. I'm ready for some down time!

But what about the Vampires? Are they really dead? A whole group of us burrowed through all four of the Twilight Saga books in quick order, then followed with Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series.

It has been interesting to see the different reactions of fellow readers -- those who stood in line to get a DVD copy of anything Twilight, versus some less than favorable remarks about the True Blood HBO series based somewhat on Sookie Stackhouse stories and characters. Several in our group remarked is was a disappointment that the producers substituted 'soft porn' to sell the series instead of simply following what was already a great story line. Too bad.

Hopefully enough discounted pre-orders for Dead Reckoning will pull us all back to Bon Temps looking forward to Sookie's next adventure.
